Ingredients:
6 potatoes, cut thinly
1 sachet of Lipton Onion Soup mix
0.33 cups of melted butter
1 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
0.5 cups of chicken broth or water
Season with salt and pepper according to personal preference
Use either cooking spray or butter to grease the surface.
Instructions:
- Begin by generously coating the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or butter to prevent any food from adhering to the surface.
- Cleanse and remove the skin (if preferred) from the potatoes. Slice them into thin pieces, making sure they are of uniform thickness to ensure even cooking.
- In a spacious mixing basin, amalgamate the thinly sliced potatoes with the melted butter, ensuring that each slice is well covered. Evenly disperse the flavors by sprinkling the Lipton Onion Soup mix over the potatoes and thoroughly mixing.
- If you want to use cheese, now is the opportune moment to include your shredded cheddar into the potato mixture and thoroughly combine it.
- Meticulously arrange the seasoned potatoes in the slow cooker and drizzle the half cup of chicken stock or water on top. The liquid will facilitate the steaming of the potatoes, resulting in a delicate texture, while the slow cooker does its magic.
- Place a lid on the pot and simmer at a low temperature for 5 to 6 hours, or at a high temperature for 2 to 3 hours. The cooking duration may vary based on the particular slow cooker you are using and the thickness of the potato slices.
- After the potatoes have become soft and fully cooked, sample and modify the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
Enjoy!
