List of items needed to make a dish.
For the Shoemaker
1 cup and 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 small spoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of sugar
1 small spoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
Half a teaspoon of cloves.
1/2 cup of mashed pumpkin
1/4 of a cup of milk
1/4 cup of melted butter or vegetable oil
One and a half teaspoons of vanilla
Regarding the topping.
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of chopped pecans
1 and a half cups of very hot water
Instructions:
Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and spices. Put aside.
In a small bowl, mix pumpkin, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until well combined. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ones and mix until you have a thick batter. Pour the mixture into a small baking dish that is 8 inches wide and has tall edges.
In another bowl, mix sugar, brown sugar, and pecans. Spread the mixture evenly on top. Pour hot water over everything {WITHOUT MIXING!} and bake for 40 minutes or until the center is firm. {Make sure to put it on a baking sheet in case it overflows.} Let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Add extra pecans and vanilla ice cream on top.
Enjoy!
